Christine Sue “Susie” Peterson was born on May 11, 1934 in Georgetown, Texas to George Herman “Gompy” Sain and Thelma “Tommie” Brooks Sain. She passed away with her family by her side on February 13, 2025.
She graduated from Hutto High School in 1951 and went on to work at the VA as a data processor. She eventually retired and spent her days with her family. Some of her favorite pastimes included coloring, reading, and playing with her grandkids.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arvid Leonard, three sisters, and one grandson. She is survived by her 2 sisters: Mary Ruth Owens of Temple, Kitty Sain Vincik of San Antonio, 8 children: Curtis and Ana Peterson of Florence, Virgil and Mary Peterson of Thornton, Harold and Patsy Peterson of Manor, Rodney and Sharon Peterson of Jonestown, Martin and Linda Peterson of Spicewood Beach, Diann and Terry Strickland of Briggs, Clinton Peterson of Liberty Hill, and Jeff Draper of Georgetown, 11 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 22 great grandsons, 11 great granddaughters, and 2 great-great granddaughters.
The Peterson family would like to extend a special thank you to Cassie, Clydie, Gayle, and Shannon of New Century Hospice and Diann, Terry, David and Janson for the dedication and special care given in our families time of need.
A visitation for Susie will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. A committal service will occur Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Palm Valley Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2500 E Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78665.
