On the evening of July 28, 2022, Dana’s brief battle with cancer was ended as she met Jesus face to face surrounded by loved ones and comforted with scripture, shared stories, and songs that celebrated her life.
Dana was born in Oceanside CA but moved to Bellaire TX after being adopted by Jimmie and Frances Aenchbacher. She was a much loved daughter growing up in a small town, where her best childhood memory was walking to a movie theater with a friend, quarter in hand to enjoy the feature film with popcorn and a drink.
As a teenager Dana loved square dancing, so much so that she joined a teenage square-dancing club where she met her beloved husband of over 50 years, Mike Goggin. Throughout their courtship and much of their marriage, the two enjoyed dancing in the matching costumes she would make. Dana was also an accomplished barber and loved working with her hands, whether it was gardening, making jewelry, ceramics or sewing, it seemed she was always working to make something beautiful.
However, her greatest accomplishment and deepest love was for her family, especially her two children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom knew her as grandma. She loved each of them in a unique way and had a special bond that lasted through childhood into adulthood.
Dana was preceded in death by her beloved father Jimmie and mom Frances. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Mike, Daughter Christy and her husband James, Son Stephen and his wife Lorie, granddaughters Maggie, Cheyenne and Sarah, grandsons Mason, Tyler and Ethan, great-grandsons Frances, Santiago and Maxton and great-granddaughter Catalina.
She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will live on in those who loved her as we look forward to the day we meet again, in a place where disease and pain will no longer exist, and we will rejoice for eternity.
