

David grew up in Austin, Texas. He attended the University of Texas majoring in art and business. He moved to San Francisco, California where he met his wife Karen. David opened a printing company Fit to Print. After several years in business he closed Fit to Print and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in San Francisco. After his wife’s death, David retired from the postal service and moved to Georgetown to be close to his family. He worked at Home Depot in the garden department. His nickname was “Cam”.
He had a passion for plants and gardening. David was an avid hiker and camper and loved being outside. He was an animal lover. David belonged to the Sea Shepherd Conversation Society, The National Wildlife Federation and the National Association of Letters Carriers. He enjoyed spending time with his family. David was a loving person who will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death were his wife Karen Buttry, and parents Floyd and Pauline Buttry.
He is survived by sister, Paula Maidlow of Georgetown, Texas; nephew, Derek Maidlow and wife Nicole of Georgetown, Texas; niece, Emily Maidlow and husband Kenny Denson of Georgetown, Texas; great nephews, Kade and Noah Maidlow of Georgetown, Texas; great nieces, Briah, Hailey and Kynlee Denson all of Georgetown, Texas; great nephew, Wyatt Denson of Georgetown, Texas; and god son, Paul Totah of Weir, Texas.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A private family service will be held at a later date.
