Dolores Hope Simpson

Dolores Hope Simpson, age 74, of Florence, was called home to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday June 29th, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born on June 28, 1943 in Austin, Texas to Cecil and Marie Alewine. She and her husband Calvin shared over 57 years of their lives together. In addition to her husband, Calvin Wesley Simpson Sr., she is survived by their 4 children; Calvin Jr. and wife Patricia, Norma Fulford and husband David, Bobby and wife Stacie, and Rebecca Hallmark, all of Florence, Texas. 9 grandchildren; Corey, Amber, Justin, Kandyce, Trey, Baillie, Morgyn, Hunter, and Franklin along with 3 great grandchildren; Easton, Tucker, Cambri, and another due in January 2018 planned to be her namesake. She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, granny, and great granny. She was completely dedicated to her husband and children in all aspects of their lives. She was everyone's hero, best friend, and guidance counselor. She was the epitome of strength and center point of stability for all. Her infectious smile and giving heart made a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with, whether for a minute or a lifetime. She enjoyed reading her Bible and doing word searches and shopping. She was a Godly woman who loved her Savior from the top of her head to the soles of her feet. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.Visitation will be Thursday, July 6th from 6 – 8 pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 N Interstate 35, Georgetown, TX. The funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, July 7, 2017 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Florence City Cemetery, Florence, Texas.
