

Don Moldenhour, age 85, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. He was born in Granger, Texas on April 9, 1925 to parents Joe Moldenhour and Clara (Bartlett) Moldenhour. Don married Georgie on June 26, 1956 in Taylor, Texas.
Don served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Barataria AVP-33. While aboard ship with the 7th fleet, he engaged in battles in most of the islands in the Philippines, the South Pacific, China Sea and Okinawa later going to Jensen, Korea and Shanghai, China. He missed Japan by 2 miles on returning to the states.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and hard working man who was dedicated to his family and work. He farmed and ranched for over 30 years, and then began a second career with Westinghouse spanning the years of 1972 to 1988. After retirement, he remained busy working with Texas Outdoor Power.
Preceding him in death were his parents Joe and Clara Moldenhour.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Georgie Moldenhour of Georgetown, Texas; two daughters, Cheryl Pope of Georgetown, Texas and Donna Muller and husband Robert of Killeen, Texas; granddaughters, Pamela Pope of Los Angeles, California, Kristen Pope of Cedar Park, Texas, Nicollette Muller of Killeen, Texas, Emily Muller of Killeen, Texas and Rebecca Muller of College Station, Texas; sister, Katie Tidwell of Granger, Texas; two brothers, Foy Moldenhour of Granger, Texas and Joe Moldenhour of Taylor, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received guests for a time of visitation from 6:00- 8:00 P.M. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A private graveside service was held on Friday, January 14, 2011.
