

Doris Harris Coleman Allenson, 78, a resident of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009. Doris was born to James Walter and Arvella Harris on October 29, 1930 in LaGrange, Georgia. She grew up in LaGrange and graduated from LaGrange High School. She, along with her first husband, the late David Harper Coleman, Sr. lived in various places around the country before settling in Houston, Texas in 1964. Almost all of her time was spent raising their five sons to adulthood in Houston. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening and square dancing. After the death of her first husband, David H. Coleman, Sr. in 1977, Doris married Leo J. Allenson of Danevang, Texas in 1983. They lived in Danevang, where Leo was a farmer, for a number of years before relocating to Sun City, Georgetown, Texas. She was preceded in death by husbands, David H. Coleman, Sr. and Leo J. Allenson. She is survived by her five sons, David H. Coleman, Jr. and wife Barbara of Henderson, Nebraska, Donald W. Coleman and wife Dalene of Stafford, Texas, Dana T. Coleman and wife Chere of Katy, Texas, Daryl K. Coleman and wife Jamie of Forney, Texas, and Daniel S. Coleman and wife Laurin of Arlington, Texas; sister Martha Harris Johnson of Griffin, Georgia, brother James W. Harris of LaGrange, Georgia; grandchildren Meredith Megrue of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ben Coleman of Lincoln, Nebraska, Claire Coleman of Houston, Texas, Steven Coleman of Spicewood, Texas, Kelly Herman of Stafford, Texas, Katie Treloar of Sugarland, Texas, Lauren Coleman of Ruston, Louisiana, Emily and Makayla Coleman of Forney, Texas, and Ashley and Scott Coleman of Arlington, Texas. In addition, Doris is survived by five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at The Worship Place, 811 Sun City Boulevard, Sun City, Georgetown, Texas. The service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on August 15, 2009.
