Dorothy Louise Wilkes Bowdren

Dorothy and husband , J.C. Wilkes and having two sons moved to Austin and started their own business in running a heating, air conditioning and insulation company. She dabbled in real estate before landing a job with Frost Bank where she retired. She had a passion for painting which she took up after retiring. She was a member for several years at Crestview Baptist Church in Austin before moving to Georgetown.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband J. C. Wilkes; her sister Ruby Lee Powers; and son Michael Lynn Wilkes.

Surviving family members are son Larry Wayne Wilkes and wife Bonnie Hammons of Georgetown; four grandsons, Todd Wilkes and wife Andrea of San Marcos, Randy Wilkes of Austin, Chuck Wyatt of Pflugerville, and Scott Wilkes; one granddaughter, Lyndi McCombs and husband Andrew of San Antonio; one step-granddaughter, Chasaty Huckabay and husband Danny Huckabay of Georgetown; three great-grandkids, Logan Wilkes, Addie Wilkes, and Kynli McComb; four step-grand kids, Ryli Huckabay, Lexi Huckabay, Aubri Huckabay and Gavin Huckabay; and a niece Sandra West of Austin.

A graveside service for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
