

Dorothy Kathreen Long Browning, age 78, born October 19, 1929 in Liberty Hill, Texas passed into heaven on July 26, 2008. Dorothy was predeceased by husband Wayne Browning; parents Frank and Clara Mather Long; brother, Leslie Long, and granddaughter Cassie Amescua. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her sister Wilma Dayton of Georgetown, children Johnny Browning and partner Melissa Jordan of Austin, Sherry Chambers of Round Rock, and Dianna Amescua and husband Mike of Leander. Also, grandchildren Matt Chambers and wife Mandy, Laura Allison and husband Tommy, Jason Amescua, Dillon Amescua and Heather Gieringer, Jon Eric Browning and wife Shawn, Jana Browning, and two of her fondest blessings great-grandchildren Clara Kate & Hudson Chambers. Also, brother-in-law HJ Browning and wife Polly, and sister in law, Sally Long. Also mourning her passing is her uncle JL Baker, nieces, nephews, and many, many cousins and friends who will miss her twinkling blue eyes and beautiful smile. Dorothy spent most of her life in Liberty Hill, Austin, and Round Rock as a mother and homemaker. Her green thumb produced beautiful flowers and roses which she shared with many. For years she bought and sold antiques and collectibles and was known for having a keen eye for value and a passion for cameos, glassware, and Snowbabies. She loved playing dominoes with friends and family, enjoyed watching the Longhorns on television and helping Wayne with his Masonic duties, and always gave unconditional love as Mamaw to her grandchildren. Her caring and gentle spirit touched many and her love for family was evidenced in every aspect of her life. A direct descendent of Samuel Mather of Williamson County, Dorothy was instrumental in documenting the Mather family heritage for the generations to come as well as protecting the perpetual integrity of the Mather Family Cemetery at Gabriel Mills where she will be laid to rest with the many who have gone before her. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, Georgetown Texas, on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with internment immediately following at the Mather Family Cemetery, Gabriel Mills. The family will receive visitors at the Chapel on Wednesday July 30, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
