Eileen Gay Jacobs

Eileen Gay (Taylor) Jacobs, age 79, of Georgetown, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Msgr. Pavlicek will celebrate the mass of Christian Burial at 2pm on Thursday, February 28, 2008 in St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Georgetown. Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery. Eileen was born in Fresno, TX on October 4, 1928 to Harry Lay and Dora Taylor. She graduated from High School in Missouri City. She was a dedicated homemaker raising seven children. She also worked in the Business Office at Southwestern University from 1977 until retiring in 1993. She enjoyed spending her time with family, especially her grand children and great-grand children. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lay and Dora Gay Taylor; brothers Flavius and Harry Taylor; sister Laureen Brooks; grandchildren Stephen Wayne and Michelle Jacobs; and her infant child, Baby Jacobs. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 61 years, Charlsie Jacobs; her brother Windle Taylor of Jarrell; her seven children: Warren Jacobs and wife Paula of Brazoria, Roger Jacobs and wife Vickie of Van, Michael Jacobs of Round Rock, Stephen Jacobs of Georgetown, Jimmy Jacobs of Georgetown, Johnny Jacobs and wife Cynthia of Burleson, Melinda Terbay and husband Tim of Georgetown; her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren plus numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Dr. Greg Willis and his nurse Debbie Brown at Georgetown Medical Center, Dr. Elia Saadeh and the staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center in Round Rock, and Dr. Jonathan Conner and the staff at the Georgetown Emergency Room for taking such great care of our Mother. Eileen will be missed by all who loved her. She was a kind and loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in the Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH-35 in Georgetown. Rev. Guzaldo will hold a vigil beginning at 7:00pm.
