Tootie is survived by her daughter Deanna Ange and granddaughters Amanda Castillo (Scott Bond) and Ashton Alvarez (Josh Alvarez), her sister Barbara Elaine Riggs, and 27 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert “Red” Ange and son Dale Ange.
Tootie was born on December 26, 1932 in Yoakum, Texas to Dora and Daniel Stephens. She married the love of her life, Red Ange, in Elm Mott, Texas on November 30, 1950. The happy couple began their adventure together, moving from place to place due to Red’s service in the Air Force (Oklahoma, Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, California, Kansas, Tennessee). Every time Red went overseas for service, Tootie and the kids moved back to Austin to be near her sister, Ruby. Even with all the moving, both of their children were born in Texas. Their final move after retirement from the Air Force was to the Austin area in 1972. They put down roots in Cedar Park becoming active and dedicated members at New Hope First Baptist Church. Red passed in 1982 and Tootie continued to be active at New Hope and with her family and friends. She loved singing in the Glory Choir and cooking meals for her church family on Wednesday evenings. Above all, Tootie enjoyed living near her beloved grandchildren, Amanda and Ashton.
A graveside service for Tootie will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at New Hope Cemetery, 200 W New Hope Dr, Cedar Park, TX 78613. Due to Covid concerns, no activities will be held indoors. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tootie’s life. Flowers can be sent to Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78628.
