Elton Fritz Sam Zulauf

Elton Fritz Sam Zulauf, 92, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020 in Georgetown, Texas.
He was born on June 22, 1928 in Williamson County near Coupland, Texas to Fritz and Hattie (lhlenfeldt) Zulauf. He married Alvera Mae Kerlin, on November 9, 1952 at St. Peters Church in Coupland, Texas, where he had been baptized and both were confirmed.
He served briefly as a motorcycle police officer with the Austin Police Department followed by a long-time career at The Austin National Bank where he served as Vice President in Commercial Loans and Real Estate. He was a member of the Austin Board of Realtors where he also served on the board. After retirement he continued in real estate, served as a consultant with the Taylor National Bank and focused on ranching.
He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Austin, where he was a member of the Church Council serving as president during the original construction addition and held many additional supporting roles.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, brother, and friend. Survivors are Alvera, his spouse of 68 years; daughter Rhonda Potts and husband Stephen of Georgetown, Texas; son Byron Zulauf of Georgetown, Texas; granddaughters, Jamie Cook and husband Andrew of Jarrell, Texas, Paige Zulauf of Salado, Texas; Kristin Potts of Round Rock, Texas and grandson, Bradley Potts of Austin, Texas; and great grandson Zane Cook of Jarrell, Texas; one sister Irene Florida of Coupland, Texas and San Antonio, Texas.
