

Enrique B. Gomez, Sr., 62, also known as “Henry”, of Georgetown, passed away after a courageously trying to recover from a head injury, he had been on dialysis for ten years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 2:00PM at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Georgetown. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery. Henry was born Enrique Benavides Gomez, on July 22, 1947 in San Diego, Texas to the late Jose Torres and Porfiria Benavides Gomez. Henry graduated from San Diego High School and went on to marry his sweetheart, Maria M. Luera on December 26, 1968. Henry and Maria have lived in the Georgetown area for many years, and were members of St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Henry had a passion for antique automobiles; he refurbished a 1964 Impala, which made him very proud. He loved spending time with family and friends barbequing and having a good time. Henry loved his grandchildren and took pride in spending time with them as much as he could. Henry leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 41 years, Maria M. Gomez; his children, Serghel Gomez, Enrique Gomez, Jr., Linda Gomez, and Roland Gomez; his grandchildren, who will miss their “Grandpa” very much, Laurrina Sanchez, Samantha Sanchez and Diamond Gomez-Sedwick; his siblings, Victoria Espinoza and her husband Andres, Jose Gomez and his wife Nelda, Leticia Gomez, Guadalupe Trejo, Maria Luisa Alverez and her husband Felipe, and Eladio Gomez; along with many other loving family members and friends.
