Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Louise Furtner. He is survived by his father, Col. Ralph W. Furtner, USAF, Ret.; his siblings, Julia Akin (Harry), CDR Thomas Furtner, USNR, Ret. (Jo Ellen), and Suzanne Broccolo (widow of Fred); nephews and niece, Christopher Broccolo, Lt. Ryan Furtner, USN, Lauren Furtner, Patrick Broccolo and Evan Furtner; great-nieces, Everleigh Broccolo and Lenox Broccolo. Eric is also survived by Mrs. Sarah Sneed, his long-time caregiver and dear friend.
Private services will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
