Ernestine Elvera Beauchamp
May 4, 1936 – April 17, 2021
Ernestine Elvera Beauchamp was born May 4, 1936 in Crystal City, Texas to Floyd and Ruby Anderson. She was raised in San Antonio, Texas where she enjoyed going to movies, shopping and roller skating with her sister, Sylvia, in her teen years. Some of her fondest memories were swimming in the Frio River at their grandparents' ranch in Con Can.
She married Jimmy Barton, December 22, 1952 and moved to San Saba, Texas. Her husband, Jimmy, died in 1963 but she remained there raising her son & daughter, working as a grocery store cashier and as a seamstress in her home. In 1973 she moved to Marble Falls, Texas and worked as an accountant at Barnes Lumber Company. She later moved to Austin and worked for the Texas State Comptroller's office until she retired in 1991 and moved to Spicewood, Texas. In 2012 she moved back to Marble Falls due to declining health issues, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her son, Terry Barton and wife Carol of Marble Falls; daughter, Sherry Dooley of Kingsland; grandson, James Waylon Hudlin; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Dianne Anderson and Wanda Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Sylvia Sanderson and Kay Ann Anderson and brother, Ben Anderson.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
