

Evelyn Ann Center Alderman, 80 years of age, died peacefully on February 20, 2017 in Georgetown, Texas. Evelyn was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Evelyn Clarice Cunningham Center and Russell Jasper Center on October 8, 1936. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas soon after her birth.
Evelyn attended school in San Antonio, Texas and San Marcos Baptist Academy in San Marcos, Texas. She attended Southern Methodist University and Texas Womens College. She worked for Braniff Airlines during that time she met Ray Alderman. She married Ray on May 10, 1957 and proceeded to have three children, Tod, Tonya and Tobin Alderman.
Evelyn was astute business women. She owned her own gift store in San Antonio, Texas. She had a successful career as a sales representative. She finished out her business career as a co-owner of SA Dirt Company. She enjoyed being a part of this business with her son, Toby Alderman.
Evelyn was a member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church and later attended Woodland Baptist Church where she enjoyed her Sunday School class. Evelyn had wonderful friends and enjoyed her time with them having dinner, watching Spur games, shopping and traveling. Her best friend and cousin, Jo Robbin, was her great travel partner. They enjoyed numerous trips and always had wonderful stories to share. Evelyn loved watching her children play sports and also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports as well.
She is preceded in death by her parents Russell and Evelyn Center, siblings JR and JD and wife Bette, sister Mary Erhle and son Toby Alderman.
She is survived by her children: son, Tod Alderman and wife Cheri of Georgetown, Texas and daughter, Tonya Alderman Henry and husband Greg of Georgetown, Texas; daughter-in-law, Mary Jarvis Alderman, wife of late son Toby Alderman of Hubbard, Texas; family friend, Mel Wilkinson of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Alderman Brown and husband Douglas, Jonathan Alderman, Devin Henry Samuelson and husband Kevin, Nathan Alderman and wife Krista, Megan Henry Holley and husband Frank, Tobin Ray Douglas Henry, Tobin Tanner Alderman and Hudson Alderman; great grandchildren, McCade, Anna Claire and Addie Grace Brown, Evelyn and Ellie Samuelson and Tessa, Julia, Franklin and Julissa Holley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Carmen Neilson and the staff of Autumn Leaves for the excellent love and care they showed Evelyn during her battle with Alzheimers.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Forever in our hearts and memories will be her beautiful blue eyes and her wonderful dimples.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
