Florence "Scotty" Juliet (Bergman) Hamilton

December 16, 1925February 6, 2021

Scotty was born December 16, 1925 in Ottumwa, lowa to Walter and Viola Bergman the fifth of six children. Her parents, brothers Clifford Leedall and Vincent Bergman, sisters June Heinz and Jewel Barker and daughter Janice Sue Hamilton preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Walter Bergman, daughters, Julie Happel (Randy) and Joan Royer, grandchildren, Katie Harradon (Thomas) and Douglas Royer (Amedee) and seven great-grandchildren, Stephen, Audrey, Joshua, Isaiah, Austin, Adelee and Abigail.

Scotty was married to Bernard "Bernie" Hamilton (deceased) and began making a cozy home for him and her daughters. Her days were filled with sewing, baking bread and scrumptious desserts (her favorite part of the meal). The role of a pastor's wife was added to her "titles" in 1959 and the family ministered to congregations in Wisconsin, Texas and Michigan. She loved music and insisted and sacrificed in order for her girls to learn to play the piano first and foremost, which led to Julie's saxophone and Joan's voice lessons.

Scotty began working for the Catholic Diocese of Austin in 1982 and retired in 2006 at the young age of 80! For many years she worked in the baby nursery of her church, Hyde Park Baptist.

We want to thank the special care givers at Park Valley Inn who cared for Scotty as she entered the long, dark disease of Alzheimer's. We are also grateful for the care she received from the Traditions Health hospice team.

Scotty went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 6, 2021.

A funeral service honoring Scotty's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Scotty's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
