Gaby Aryani Wonopuro

Gaby Aryani Wonopuro (Liem Hwie Nio), 86 years old, passed away on April 3, 2014, with her family by her side at St. David's Hospital in Georgetown, Texas. We are grateful for the nice medical treatment at St. David's Georgetown Hospital.

She was born on July 6, 1927, in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. She attended Lagere School and Mulo High School in Semarang.

She married Eddy L. Waworuntu (Liem Tjien Kiat) in April 1955. She worked in Jakarta as a secretary for Fermont & Cuypers Company from 1955 to 1960. When her husband was stationed as a military doctor in Indonesian Army in Bengkulu, Palembang, Jambi and Bandung from 1960 to 1986, she followed him along. After her husband’s retirement she moved to the United States to live with her sons in Austin, Dallas, Georgetown and Temple, Texas. She was an active member of the Catholic community. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Eddy L. Waworuntu and four sons Ari Iwan, Adi Ridwan, Is Dani and Tri Arman Waworuntu with their spouses, and 6 grandchildren.

A visitation with family and friends will be held from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A Reading of the Liturgy will be at 5:30 P.M. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown.
