Geneva Fay Finney Brown of Georgetown, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 4, 2023, at the age of 88. She was a loving and selfless soul who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was born in Seattle, Texas, on Owl Creek, near the current Lake Belton area, on December 17, 1934, to her parents, Mable Inez Walker Finney and Claud Amos Finney. She was one of six children, four boys and two girls. She joins her parents and siblings in eternal rest, reunited in peace.
Geneva was also preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Claude, known by friends and family as W.C. or “Dub” Brown, of Belton, Texas. They were married on October 9, 1951, when they exchanged vows in Belton.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lois Brown Mosley, and her devoted son, Larry Brown, both of Georgetown, Texas. Geneva's legacy lives on through her five cherished grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride in her life. She was a warmhearted and nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother affectionately known as Meme.
A generous and kind servant to those around her, Geneva was a friend's friend who cared for others in need, expecting nothing in return. She was a favorite among all her siblings, nieces, and nephews, having a tender spirit and sweet nature. She always put others before herself and will be remembered not only for her unwavering devotion to her family but also for her green thumb as she was an avid gardener. She had a special knack for tending to beautiful plants as she did for all those whom she loved. Even as her memory failed her, she never forgot to ask about “the kids, grandmas, and grandpas.” The fruits of the spirit were on display until the end as she embodied the character of her beloved savior. Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will endure forever. The love she shared will remain alive in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
We love and miss you already, Meme, but are comforted that we shall someday meet again in the presence of the Lord.
A graveside service for Geneva will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Salado Cemetery, 1109 Baines Street, Salado, Texas 76571.
