She was born on November 18, 1941 in San Francisco, California to George and Helen Virginia (Schrimp) Wolk. Georgia attended San Fransisco schools and received her high school diploma after she graduated from Balboa High School. She married Simon R. Govea Jr. in December of 1967. After her marriage, she became a homemaker and dedicated herself to caring for her family. She was a member of St. William’s Catholic Church in Round Rock. Georgia had a passion for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her friends.
Georgia is preceded in death by her husband and parents. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Deborah Amos and James Govea; grandchildren, Victoria Conrad and husband Christopher, Kristine Spencer, and Nayelli Govea; and her great-grandchildren, Brigid, Izabela, Pyrce, Olivia, Astrid and Rowan.
A memorial service celebrating Georgia’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Georgia’s honor to the National Kidney Foundation.
