Gustavo Zepeda Flores, Jr. was born November 28, 1935 in Sanderson, Texas and passed away July 21, 2019 in Georgetown, Texas after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He was surrounded by his family which was a blessing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carolina Parada Flores; his daughter, Sylvia Flores Kisner (Timothy Kisner); and son, Carlos Flores. He has two grandsons, Zachary and Joshua Kisner and two granddaughters, Viviana and Marlo Flores. He also leaves behind his sister, Enriqueta Valdez (Genaro Valdez); nieces, Dora, Melissa and Anabelia and nephew, Luis; along with many wonderful cousins. Gustavo was preceded in death by his father, Gustavo Flores Sr.; mother, Annie Zepeda Flores; mother-in-law, Guadalupe Parada; and father-in-law, Manuel Parada, Sr.

He grew up in Sanderson, Texas and graduated from Sanderson High School. He moved to Fort Stockton, Texas, after returning from serving in the U.S. Army. Gustavo was warmly known as “Red” by his family and friends. He had a passion for woodworking, fishing and camping in West Texas and especially Big Bend and the Davis Mountains. He enjoyed volunteering at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fort Stockton where he was a member for 40 years.

On August 10, 2019, a Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 A.M. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with Reverend Daniel Garcia officiating. Following the Memorial Service, the family will hold a reception in the Southwestern Room at the funeral Home.
