Somehow I missed Colonel Rosenthal's passing  at the time.
He was my FIRST boss in the Medical Service Corps at Moody AFB, GA beginning in 1971.  I was truly BLESSED to begin my USAF MSC career with such a dedicated mentor. After our tour at Moody,  we crossed paths at DPSC in Philadelphia several times and at the annual Medical Logistics Symposium.  Most of all, Colonel Rosenthal taught me "the S stands for Service as an MSC  and if you don't believe that, it's not too late to cross train into another career field" - I thought it was a joke. Not hardly.  For 3 decades, I was reminded DAILY of the TRUTH  about what he said: the S stands for service. Shalom Aleichem - kent

Hello Dixie and Family,

I just learned of Harry's passing am want to convey my most sincere condolences.  I fondly recall the weekend I spent with you in 1980 while you were living at DPSC in Philadelphia.  In my youth, he always struck me as a very bright and well respected AF colonel.  His name was fondly mentioned by Gene Lackey and other MSC colleagues.  I learned of Harry's passing via the MSC Association.  I passed the information on to my father, Joe Blakeney, who is living in San Diego, CA.  (My Dad is suffering from Alzheimer's but remembered you and passes on his sympathy.)

I recall my Mother, Virginia, enjoyed her friendship with you all through the years.  She especially enjoyed being able to have Terry come stay with her one week while you and Harry took a vacation.  Mom used to share the holiday cards with me and I kept up with your family that way.  Mom's been gone 17 years this month, it's hard to belive how time passes.

I retired from the AF as an MSC in 1999 and am living in Fredericksburg, VA.  You may recall my sisters, Jan and Patsy.  Jan is still in Beaufort, SC and Patsy is in Phoenix. Please do not hestiate to stop by and visit if you are in our neighborhood.

I hope you and your children are well.  I often think of earlier times and friendships.
