

Pastor Harvey E. Knezek, age 61, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. He was born on September 16, 1949 in Hallettsville, Texas to Walter Daniel Knezek, Sr. and Mary Patricia (Pekar) Knezek. Harvey graduated from Yoakum High School in 1968. He attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas majoring in Construction. Harvey spent his early years as a detailer for a structural steel company in Houston, Texas. After moving to Victoria, he was part owner in K & K Construction with his brother Walter. In 1992, he joined Roth Construction as a project manager, estimator and Vice-President until the present. He served as a consultant for the City of Victoria Fire Code Department. Harvey married Linda Karen Wadle on January 3, 1992.
In 1999, Harvey heard the call from the Lord to become a “Fisher of Men” and was licensed to preach by Parkway Church. Harvey served as Senior Pastor for Second Baptist Church in Victoria where he was ordained July 28, 2002 with Reverend J.A. Munson giving charge to the congregation and was there from 2001 to 2007. He served as Chaplain for the WBBCI Region 9 Airstream Club 2009 – 2010. Harvey was a member of the Austin Street Baptist in Yoakum.
He was preceded in death by his father Walter Daniel Knezek, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Karen Knezek of Georgetown, Texas; three sons, John Lee Wadle of Austin, Texas, James Knezek and wife Julia of Elgin, Texas and Mark Knezek of Austin, Texas; grandson, Aiden James Knezek of Elgin, Texas; mother, Mary Pekar Knezek of Yoakum, Texas; brothers, Walter Knezek and wife Lorena of Rockport, Texas, Frank Knezek and wife Linda Kay of Sweeny, Texas, and Johnny Knezek and wife Sandra of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Mary Ann Langhoff and husband Roy of Quitman, Texas and Linda Dolezal and husband Marvin of Yoakum, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life in Harvey’s honor will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Parkway Church in Victoria, Texas. A visitation with the family will follow the service.
