Born Hattie Faye Davis on January 27, 1946, to the union of Leonard Davis and Valrie Carter in Nacogdoches, Texas, she attended E. J. Campbell High School and graduated in the class of 1965. On November 26, 1967, she married Marvin D. Hunt Jr. and had two children in this union. In 1969, she was added to the Lord's church and remained faithful.
Over the course of her life, Mrs. Hattie Faye Hunt pursued further education and filled many different career roles and leadership positions, most focusing on service to others. She attended Nationwide Business College, studied at New Mexico State University, and graduated with an associate degree from Mountain State Technical Institute, Phoenix, Arizona. At various stateside and overseas military duty stations, Faye worked in customer service supervisor and store manager roles for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service. While stationed at Ft. Huachuca in Arizona, she actively served the neighboring community of Sierra Vista as a Welcome Wagon Community Representative. She became a Century 21 realtor and a National Association of Realtors member, largely helping military families relocate. Faye also became the Co-owner of the Sierra Vista Drive-In Movie Theater, keeping it open and available for the community to enjoy. Faye was also a valued Red Cross volunteer, primarily serving as a chairside dental assistant during an assignment to Fort Richie, Maryland. After her husband retired from the Army, she served as a Medical Billing Specialist in Austin, Texas. Her calming spirit brought peace to those around her.
There were many activities that Faye enjoyed, including Lady’s Bible study, watching Western movies with her husband, coloring and puzzle books, class reunion travel excursions, FaceTime video calls with her grandchildren and family visits. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and liked sharing funny pictures, videos, and interesting articles.
