Batch was born in Pueblo, CO and raised in Amarillo, TX before coming to Austin for school. He graduated from UT Austin, where he and his wife Jan met. They married in 1971, and would have celebrated 54 years this August. Batch had a long real estate career in Austin, working with JB Goodwin and others, and making many friends along the way. He had an infectious, larger than life personality, and never met a stranger. He loved old Austin and enjoyed talking real estate, golf, music, and Longhorns football.
After his retirement, Batch enjoyed working around the farm and making improvements. His cookies and fudge became well known among friends, neighbors and just about anyone who met him, and he took a great deal of pleasure in making and sharing them. He always brought sweets to Jan’s horse shows and made sure to get everyone their favorites.
Batch is survived by his wife Jan Nuckolls, daughters Christina Nuckolls, Katie Nuckolls and fiancée Daniel Clark, brother Terry Nuckolls, nieces Mia Canning, Mindy Tarver and Millie Phillips, nephews James, Jason and Jacob Nuckolls, Adam, Tom and Gary Elmore, Jason Chandler, and sister in law Ann Chandler and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Heath and Boots Nuckolls, sisters Sandi Jacquot, Nancy Melson and Jane Elmore, and brother in law Toby Chandler.
A celebration of life for Heath will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. If you feel moved to do so, please consider donating to a blood drive or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org).
