Henry M. Streety

Henry Mack (H.M.) Streety, age 92, of Austin, Texas passed away February 9th, 2014. He was born January 21, 1922, in Taylor, Texas, to Opha Dill and Henry Mack Streety Senior of Weir, Texas. H.M graduated from Georgetown High School. He married Yvonne White on November 26, 1953, in Austin, Texas.

H.M. served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Afterwards, he attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Master’s degree in Music Education.

Mr. Streety was a band director for many years. He taught at Schreiner Institute in Kerrville, and at Round Rock, Lago Vista, and Liberty Hill ISDs.

Mr. Streety is survived by his wife of 60 years, Yvonne; son, William Thomas Streety of Dallas; daughter, Susanne Penelope Streety of Austin and grandson, Tanner Brant Streety of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Grace Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Cook Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior from 1pm to 2pm at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown with the funeral service following, at 2pm. Mr. Streety will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
