Irene Diaz Mannrriquez

In Loving memory of Irene Diaz Mannrriquez, 81, of Georgetown who passed away peacefully on May 7, 2024. Irene lived a life filled with love and kindness. She was born in Georgetown, TX on May 27, 1942 to Eugene and Refugia Barrera Diaz, and brought joy and laughter into the lives of all who knew her. She touched countless hearts with her warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit. Irene is survived by her beloved children, Elizabeth Ann Thompson and John Anthony Vasquez, brother Felipe Diaz. Cherished grandchildren, Oscar Lopez Jr., Marina Lopez, Paul Matthew Sedwick, Dexter Lamont Thompson Jr., Alyssa Rose Thompson, and John Anthony Vasquez Jr. (BJ). Great-grandchildren, J'dyn Lopez, Serenity Lopez, Laila Elyse Sedwick, Alahni Nikole Sedwick, Leilani Bree Sedwick, and Riley Danyell Hightower-Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Emily Jean Lopez, siblings Isaac Diaz, Refugio Barrera, and Eugene Diaz.

Irene’s legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel beginning at 10:30 am, with the funeral service to start at 11 am, afterwards, she will be laid to rest at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery.
