Our sincere condolences to the Davis Family. May the Lord give you strength and love during this painful period in your life.
I came to know Jim when I began working at the Houston Chronicle in May of 1970. Jim was a great Boss to work for, always encouraging me to better myself. When my Boys were involved in Little League Basaball, he would work with my work schedule so that I would be able to coach my Sons.
Jim will always live on, in your Thoughts and in your Hearts.

Having known Jim for several decades, there are many memories to share. However, the most memorable are the times Jim showed his love of family and his pets. He was, undoubtedly, one of the kindest human beings I've ever known. Rest in everlasting Peace, Jim.

Some of our fondest memories of being here in Sun City as Jim and Sharon’s next door neighbors are when our grand dog Susie came for a visit and she and Nico played together. After Sharon let Susie in to eat Nico’s food we would sit on their patio and watch the dogs run around together. Susie is a Golden and would finally lay down and enjoy Nico running around her.

I enjoyed the fact that Jim loved my deviled eggs so I made him a batch which he really appreciated. We will miss him so much, Ken and Jeanie😘

Sympathy to all the Davis family in the death of Jim. Known Jim and family since 1971 when I came to work at Chronicle. Good memories of working together all those years. Jim was a great boss. We loved playing 42 dominoes with Jim & Sharon. May God bless you with peace in the days ahead.
Prayers from,

Sharon, I am so sorry for your loss. Jim was a great part of my High School years, a great influence. Words can't comfort you at this time, only memories of your life together and your family and friends will help. Please know that Jim was well liked by many, many people.
He is in my prayers and if you need anything let me know.

I met him through Keith. Jim ate so slow! So did I. We used to get left at the lunch table. Keith passed a year and a half ago. Way too young. I am so very sorry to Jim’s family. Our lives once intertwined and I will never forget. Give Keith a hug for me would you please.
