James was born May 31, 1942, to Norma (Domel) and Adolph Neitsch in Jarrell, TX. He was baptized June 14, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg, TX and confirmed also at Zion on March 30, 1958. His confirmation verse – Matthew 28:20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
He attended Zion Lutheran School and spent most of his life working on the family farm/ranch just south of Walburg. He loved to read the local newspapers and enjoyed drinking a beer every now and then. He followed instructions quite well. When his doctor told him to stop drinking beer, he stopped. When his doctor told him he needed to walk, he walked and walked and walked! He was never a complainer; but he had a kind-hearted disposition. He always greeted everyone with a smile. In recent years, he enjoyed playing bingo, shuffleboard, & table horse racing at Will-O-Bell!
He is survived by his sister, Alice (Neitsch) Austin of Walburg, brother, Howard Neitsch of Winter Haven, FL; Niece Audrey (Arldt) Bielss & husband Stanley of Walburg; nephews, Calford Arldt & wife Julie of Coupland, TX, Dwight Arldt & Nicole Nieft of Walburg; Patrick Zipperer of Walburg, & Bradley Neitsch of Winter Haven, FL as well as great & great, great nieces & nephews.
