

Jim Wilhite, 56 of Georgetown, died on May 23, 2008 following a brief unexpected illness. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown with Dr. Kent Marrs and the Austin Fire Department presiding. Jim was born in Corpus Christi on August 8, 1951 to Noah and Billie (Peters) Wilhite. He graduated from Pflugerville High School in 1969. After proudly serving his country in the Marine Corps for four years, he joined the Austin Fire Department. Jim retired as a Lieutenant in 2001 after 27 years of service. Because of his love for children, he then worked as a bus driver and trainer for Round Rock ISD. Jim was fun-loving, quick-witted, and always willing to help those in need. His passions in life were cooking for friends and family, deep sea fishing, traveling, dancing, and spending time with the people he loved. Jim is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving wife; Denise, daughters; Ashley and Sheridan Wilhite, mother; Billie Perkins, sisters; Carmen Tonne, Lola McLeister, Nancy Robbins, brother; Carson Perkins, step- children; Tiffany, Adam, Ben, and Liz Hopkins, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Jim’s name to organizations that benefit children.
