Joe Sam Bagley
November 28, 1935 – February 9, 2020
Joe Sam Bagley passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 9, 2020 after a long illness. Joe was born in Trinity County, Texas on November 28, 1935. He joined the United States Airforce after graduating from high school in Buffalo, Texas. After serving in the military, he earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston. He spent over 35 years in public service where he worked as the district manager for both the Department of Public Welfare in Houston, Texas and the Social Security Administration in Pasadena, Texas. He was recognized by the State of Texas and the United States federal government many times for his dedication and service.
He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin A. Bagley and Ruth “Johnie” Blackmon, his sister Pauline Bagley Satterfield, and his brother Charles W. Bagley. He is survived by his wife Georgia Ann Cook Bagley, his daughters Elizabeth Pauline Kelly of Georgetown, Julie Ann Bagley of Lakeway, and his four grandchildren Joseph Gilbert Kelly, Jacob Scott Kelly, Kennedy Ann Engstrom, and Jeremy Samuel Kelly.
Georgia wishes to thank Pam Johnson and Jodi Beard for the wonderful care given to Joe over the past four years. Their kindness and support will always be remembered.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
