John Singleton Chandler

John S. Chandler, age 96, passed away on November 5, 2018 in Georgetown, Texas. Mr. Chandler was born on November 6, 1921 in Seymour, Texas to John S. and Mollie Aurelia Chandler. After attending Texas Tech University and serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he worked for 33 years in the Engineering Department of Colorado Interstate Gas Company in Colorado Springs, CO. He lived for many years in Black Forest, Colorado. He was married to the former Carolyn Tulley on December 15, 1961 in Pueblo, Colorado. To this union two sons, John B. Chandler and James R. Chandler, were born. After his retirement in 1982, John and Carolyn lived in Seymour and Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved to Del Webb’s Sun City, Texas Retirement Community in Georgetown, Texas in 1997. He was a member of the Worship Place Church in Sun City. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn, on April 17, 2004; daughter, Jane Chandler; and sister, Evelyn Fowler. He is survived by his sons, John B. Chandler and James R. Chandler, both of Georgetown, Texas; and his children by former marriage, David Chandler of Colorado and Ann Finnell of Cleburne, Texas. A private funeral service will be held under the direction of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown.
