John Winston Roberts Jr.

John W. Roberts Jr., 72, of Georgetown, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, TX. A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 9:30am at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Jonah Cemetery. John was born August 31, 1942 in Taylor, TX to John Sr. and Frances Roberts. He attended public school in Jonah and Georgetown, graduating from Georgetown High School in 1960. After graduation he spent two years in the U.S. Navy before being honorably discharged. He returned to Georgetown and spent the remainder of his life farming the land and building barns. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jerlene, second wife, Connie; son, Frank Homesley, and brother, Murray Roberts. He is survived by his children: Susan Crawford Howard, Vera McKelvy, Nancy Nipper, Carol Hughes and husband Dave, Karen Johnson, Janet Gonzales and husband James, and son, John Roberts; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Sue Berry and numerous other family members and friends.
