

John Francis Welsh, lovingly known as “Jack” 66, of Lago Vista, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2012. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2700 East University Blvd., Georgetown. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX. John was born on March 15, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to John Joseph and Theresa Terzano Welsh. He was raised in the Philadelphia area and graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School. John went on to attend and graduated from St. Joseph College with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. His degree and passion for politics followed him throughout life. John served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He moved to Texas in 1980, but remained an avid Philadelphia sports fan, the Philadelphia Eagles was his favorite. John worked for many years as a title examiner, working for Longhorn Title, Texas Title, and most recently Gracy Title. The arts were a passion of John’s, he loved to read and listen to music, and he had an extensive collection of LP records. John leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Alexandra Welsh and fiancé Jacob Bickelhaupt; sons, John P. Welsh and Michael D. Welsh; brother, Michael Walter Welsh and wife Paula; and the mother of his children, Beatriz F. Welsh; along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
