Our sister, Juanita Miranda Carter, would like you to know, that she has taken the Lord’s Hand and gone to the Place He has long ago made especially for her. It is a perfect place, with no pain or sorrow. It is a place filled with sunshine and singing birds. For Juanita, we are sure it is a farm, clean and beautiful and bountiful. Just the place she always wanted. Juanita bounced into this world 71 years ago. She was a beautiful baby born to John and Margaret Miranda. She was blessed to have a total of 9 brothers and sisters … Tina, Linda, Esther, Margaret, Frank, Betty Jo, Susie, John Douglas, and Amelia. We were blessed to have her. She had a kind and generous heart. Every one of us was happy to have her among us.
Juanita Miranda joined in holy matrimony with Otis Carter and led a happy life with him, until he passed away a few years ago. The marriage was blessed with one son, Christopher Carter of Commache, Texas. He is her soul survivor and the love of her life. She held on to life as long as she could, just for him. Juanita did not technically have grandchildren, but she stole all the ones she could. She loved children and was so loving and generous with all her nieces and nephews. They can each testify to the love and gifts she showered upon them.
Our sister was an industrious and hard working, woman. At different times, she worked for IBM, the city of Abilene, Texas, and even had her own business in Montana. She was also a great crafter, seamstress, quilter, and baker. She supplemented her income by making lovely baby quilts, that everyone wanted. Her pecan candies and goodies were simply scrumptious! We all are happy to have some of her recipes to carry forward her memory.
Juanita spent her last years in Commache, Texas. She found a little tiny Baptist church, just down the road and attached herself to it like a mother hen. She cleaned, cooked, baked, and participated in all activities at that church. She met a couple of good friends, Jeannie and Reesy. She loved them both for all the kindnesses that they showed her. Don’t cry for me, she would say to us. I’m going to heaven. Yes, she is in heaven. She led her life just as Christ asked her to. She trusted Him to her last breath. Always having complete faith. She asked us to live life to the fullest, but in a Christian manner. That’s the way to get to heaven. She did a great job. We will always remember her big eyes and lovely smile, but most of all we will remember her energy and her love for her friends, family, country, and most of all God. She is in her perfect heaven. So, join us in celebrating her life with good thoughts and good deeds for one another. Pray for each other that we may be as strong and loving as she was,in following our Lord, all our lives.
