Laquita Joy Fawver Holliday Sutphen, age 90, was received into the arms of her Savior on January 11, 2024. She was released from this world after an evening spent surrounded by her children at St. David’s Hospital in Round Rock, Texas.
Laquita was born in Van, Texas on July 21, 1933. She grew up in Austin, Texas, where she graduated from Austin High School in 1951. After graduation, she married Bobby Ray Holliday, the love of her life, in 1952. Together, they raised three children. In addition, they owned and ran “The Boat Shop” for over 20 years. After 45 years together, Bobby passed away in 1996. Laquita was blessed to find love a second time, and married John Thaddeus Sutphen, affectionately known as “Papa Jack” in 2003. When Papa Jack left this world in 2013, Laquita spent the rest of her life surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Laquita was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Jessie Belle Fawver, her husband, Bobby Ray Holliday, and her husband, John Thaddeus Sutphen. She is survived by her son, Gary Ray Holliday and wife Heidi; daughter, Donna Joy Brown and husband Billy; daughter, Lisa Kay Holliday-Robertson and husband David; and her brother, Joe Fawver. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren Bobby Heine and wife Mirela, Christopher Holliday, Andy Holliday and wife Morgan, Lance Kubiak and wife Brittany, Stephanie Obelgoner and husband Jason, and six great-grandchildren.
Due to inclement weather, the funeral service for Laquita has been postponed until Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Cook Walden Capital Parks Mausoleum Chapel, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
