Larry lived a life defined by love, service, and dedication to family and country. He proudly served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. During his military career, he received numerous honors, awards and commendations. His service reflected the values that guided his entire life: courage, integrity, duty, and compassion.
Following his military service, Larry worked as a government contractor continuing to serve the military community, where he was respected for his hard work and leadership. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who cherished time spent with those he loved.
Those who knew Larry knew that he enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, Billie, no matter where they were. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time on or near water. He will be remembered for his boisterous laugh, funny quips, and generosity. He never met a stranger. His unwavering support of those he loved touched countless lives.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Billie, daughter Traci (Nick), son Nicholas (Lillian), grandson Landon and a host of friends and family. He was preceded in death by his son Mike, mother Fonda Wright, stepfather Gene Wright and father Blair Shiflet.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to our nation.
Though deeply missed, Larry’s name and legacy of love, honor, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
