

Leah Gestopa Hugo, 53, a resident of Texas since 2004, died peacefully at her home on August 15, 2012 surrounded by her family and friends. She had been battling breast cancer since 2002. She was a courageous, independent, feisty, loving, strong woman who spoke what was in her mind. Some, at first, were intimidated but soon learned that her bark was worse than her bite.
Leah was born in the Philippines to Tomas Gestopa and Fermina Cabello Gestopa on November 8, 1958. She was married to Nestor P. Hugo on May 7, 1981. She graduated nursing school in 1980 and had been practicing nursing for over 30 years and had affected so many lives and met great friends along the way.
She is survived by husband, Nestor P Hugo; daughters, Faye Marie G. Hugo and Nella Gemma H. Stout; son, Chuck Alen G. Hugo; grandbabies Leah Marie Stout and 2 unborn grandchildren; father, Tomas Gestopa; mother, Fermina Gestopa; and her 5 siblings and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. William Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas with Father Jonathan Raia officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas.
