

Leonard Francis Alcala age 72, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Monday January 7, 2008. Rev. Emilian Foltyn will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Corn Hill. He was born to Cirilo and Mary (Lopez) Alcala on March 9, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Leonard served his country as a member of the USMC during the Korean Conflict. On December 24, 1955 Leonard married Gwendolyn Alcala. He worked as a commercial roofer in and around Kansas and Missouri before retiring. Leonard was a member of The American Legion in Kansas City, Missouri. Surviving Mr. Alcala are his wife Gwendolyn of Georgetown; his daughter Gwenda Jo Bruce and husband Rodney of Hutto,Texas; sons Michael Anthony and wife Laura of Jerico Springs, Missouri , Leonard Eugene and wife Barbara of Kansas City, Kansas ; brother Henry Alcala of Parkville, Missouri ; sister Frances Tyrus of Mission, Kansas ; grandchildren Sarah, Renae, Erin, John, Maria, Mitchell, Samantha, Michelle, and Leonard Paul ; great grandchildren Jordan, Jeffrey, and Leonard Paul Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008 at Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7pm.
