Lillie Opal Robbins

Lillie Opal Robbins, 73 of Poplar Bluff, MO., formerly of Georgetown, died February 1, 2008 in a Healthcare Center. Rev. Jack Phelps will officiate at the funeral service on Wednesday Feb. 6, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. in the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Interment will follow in IOOF Cemetery with Greg Shelton, Christopher Kincaid, Kent Steenken, Gary Light, Jeff Logan, Dale Pope, Kevin Cloud, and Geoffrey Shelton serving as pallbearers. Lillie was born January 23, 1935 to Calvin Lester and Mittie (Luce) Staton in Liberty Hill, TX. Lillie Opal was baptized in the Baptist faith in 1959. She dedicated herself to a medical career spanning 43 years. She graduated from nursing school in 1961, she continued her education through Hillsboro Junior College, Texas Tech, and received her nursing home administrator’s license from Texas State University in San Marcos. She retired from Buckner Baptist Benevolences, Austin Campus on May 9, 2003 after 17 years of faithful service. Lillie is preceded in death by a son; Billie Gene Shelton, Jr. She is survived by as son; Earl and wife Betty of Poplar Bluff, MO., daughter; Sherra Cloud of Amarillo, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown.
