Linda Lee Martinez

Linda Lee Martinez, 63 of Georgetown, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Linda was born in Rochester, New York to the late Robert and Lyda Furguson. Linda was raised in the Sodus, New York area and graduated from R. L. Thomas High School in Webster, New York. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts from San Jacinto College in 1997. In 1977, Linda moved her family to Houston, Texas for better job opportunities; she lived in the Channelview area for over 30 years. Linda worked for The Houston Metro Authority for many years, serving as Executive Administrative Assistant to the Vice President. Linda enjoyed reading, swimming, crafts and cross stitch. Since moving to Georgetown in 2007, she has really enjoyed her community at Mariposa and taking care of her friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lyda Furguson and her brother, Tom Pettit. Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Lisa Herring and her husband Steven Gabrielson; her siblings, Bonnie Ebner and her husband Harry, David Furguson and his wife Gale, Lori Kenney, and Debbie Leaty and her husband Steve; her loving companion/pooch Bonnie; along with a host of other loving family members and her extended family and her friends.
