Linwood "Swede" Oberg

Linwood “Swede” Oberg, 92, of Georgetown, Texas died peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Georgetown. He was born on October 5, 1919 in Stockholm, Maine. Swede was a World War II Army veteran who served his country proudly. Swede was married to Donna Gallant on March 31, 1948. After marriage they lived in several locations in Maine, Connecticut and Florida.

Swede was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, in January 2005 in Newport Richey, Florida. He then moved to Georgetown, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Lana Oberg, of Georgetown, Texas; a son, David Oberg, of Round Rock, Texas; grandsons Nathan Goudie of Vancouver, British Columbia, Bryan Goudie (Lona) of Arlington, Virginia, and Jeremy Oberg of Round Rock, Texas; granddaughters Jessica Oberg of Georgetown, Texas, and Karen (John) Derr of Manvel, Texas; and three beautiful great-granddaughters Angelina, Arianna and Annabelle.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628.
