Mr. Luz Perez

Mr. Luz Perez, age 83, of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010. He was born on April 20, 1926 in Georgetown, Texas to parents Julio Perez and Maria Pacheco Perez. Luz retired from the Featherlite Rock Quarry. He was a great story teller and enjoyed giving advice to his family. Luz was a member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Andice.

Luz was a wonderful husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents Julio and Mary Perez, sister Guadalupe Hurtado and sons Valdomero Perez, Jesse Del La Luz Perez, Randall Perez and James Edward Perez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Amelia U. Perez of Liberty Hill, TX; daughters, Della Ybarra of Burnet, TX, Licha Maldonado of Memphis, TX, Irene Perez of Georgetown, TX, Juanita Perez of New Summerfield, TX, Lupe P. Arredondo of Taylor, TX, Sally P. Reyes of Victoria, TX and Dora Perez of Liberty Hill, TX; sons, Randy Perez of Liberty Hill, TX, Julian Perez of Round Rock, TX and Joey Perez of Georgetown, TX; 44 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with a rosary to follow at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Andice, Texas with Father Eliseus O. Ibeh officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Maria Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be E.J. Martinez, Zack Perez, Albert Reyes, Joel Arredondo Jr., Oscar Martinez and Erika Perez. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Leschber and Sergio Martinez.
