Manuel Vigil

Manuel Vigil was born November 16, 1948 in Laredo, Texas, the son of Cerapio Antonio Vigil and Maria Rita (Moya) Vigil. He passed from this life November 22, 2023 at his home in Georgetown. Manuel had lived in Georgetown for the past 40 years, moving here from Laredo. He and Rosa Elia Espinoza were united in marriage on November 20, 1971 and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2016. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and had worked as a Custodian for Georgetown Independent Schools. He had previously worked for 20 years for Intercraft as a Forklift Driver. Manuel enjoyed Barbequing and listening to music. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Manuel was an early riser and went each morning to visit his wife Rosa at the cemetery and would pick his grandchildren up every day after school.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Juan Vigil. Manuel is survived by his children, Anna Vigil and Sandra Vigil; brother, Alberto Guadalupe Vigil and sister, Antonia Margarita Vigil; grandchildren, Santos Ortega, Jr., Alfredo Manuel Ortega, Esteban Ortega, Hilda Ortega, Rudy Rodriguez, Anna Sariñana and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 4-6 pm, with a Rosary Service at 6pm at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2700 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626. Interment will follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery at 11:30 am.

Serving as pallbearers are Santos Ortega, Jr., Alfredo Manuel Ortega, Esteban Ortega, Rudy Rodriguez, Juan Rivera and Martin Espinoza.
