Margaret J Olson

On December 17, 1949, Margaret married Marvin David Olson. They were married for 56 years. Together they raised two children – Kathy and Larry. After living briefly in Cedar Park and Austin they moved to Round Rock in 1953, where they spent roughly 43 years. In 1996 they relocated to Florence, Texas to ranch full time. Margaret was by Marvin’s side for all of the ranch work. They enjoyed living in the Florence area, working the ranch and making numerous friends.

Marvin passed away in 2006. Margaret continued to live on the ranch and kept up with the ranch work with the help of her son, Larry and 2 grandsons, Ben and Seth. She had other interests as well. She enjoyed playing bunco, train and going to lunch with her girlfriends in Florence. She attended Lawler Baptist Church and enjoyed Brother Roy and Mary’s friendship. She also got a dog – Maggie – whom she loved dearly!!!

Margaret fell at her home in 2019 and moved to several rehab facilities before moving to The Wesleyan in Georgetown where she stayed until June 28, of this year. She moved to The Brixton in Horseshoe Bay to be near her daughter, Kathy. Even though she wasn’t there long she was able to enjoy a lot of family time.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Kathy and her husband Michael Walsh, her daughter-in-law Linda Olson, grandson Shawn and his wife Aylin Walsh, granddaughter Robyn and her husband Stu Pottorff, granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Travis Jones, grandson Ben and his wife Heather Olson and Seth Olson.

Her great grandchildren -Sienna, Brady and Ava Walsh, Rosie and Rainey Pottorff, Presley and Grayson Jones, Scarlet and Hugo Olson.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 1, at Palm Valley Lutheran Church.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all of us!
