Marilyn Sue Crider

Sue was born in Austin, Texas, on November 2, 1951 to Mentford “Pete” Hesskew and Corene Marie Hesskew. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1969 and studied business at Austin Community College.

Sue was married to Norman Felton Crider Jr from April 3, 1971 until his passing in 1978. It was important for Sue to find a career that supported both family life and professional growth. She was a loving mother, devoted daughter, provider, caregiver, friend, and perhaps her most favorite of all, an amazing grandma. She was always there to encourage you, give you guidance and lift you up when life didn’t go as planned. Sue worked in an administrative support role for the Austin Fire Department, Veterans Administration, DOT/Federal Aviation Administration. She later worked as a legal secretary before discovering her passion for Human Resources. Sue obtained her Professional in Human Resources certificate and served as Human Resources Manager until her retirement. Throughout her career she received multiple outstanding performance awards.

Sue is survived by her son, Jason Crider and wife, Ashleigh; daughter, Suzanne Hays and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Kaylyn, Keaton and Ella; step-father, Bobby L. Wright Sr; brother, Mentford “Dusty” Hesskew; and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 N. IH-35, Pflugerville.
