

8/21/1933-12/20/2017Martha Jane Oden Howe was born in Tennessee Colony near Palestine, Texas August 21, 1933. She married William Dean Howe in Palestine, Texas, who preceded her in death on 2/29/1988. She was also preceded in death by her oldest son, Craig William Howe and her brother Elton Bruce Oden. She is survived by her other two sons, Michael Howe of Leander and Stephen Howe of Georgetown, her grandson Nicholas Howe of Georgetown, and her sister Ruth Cox of Palestine.In life, Martha enjoyed breeding and training dogs as well as painting and art of all kinds. She and her husband established a dental technician business, and they worked together for several years doing that, as well as operating a successful art studio in Georgetown, Texas. Martha loved knitting, sewing, completing jigsaw puzzles, and many other crafts. She was known for her witty and quick sense of humor, as well as her ability to be strong in difficult situations. She also had a keen sense of adventure, obtaining a pilot’s license and traveling extensively.A viewing will be held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel at 393 N. IH-35, Georgetown, TX 78628 on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. All are welcome to join us in saying farewell to this wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and sister who will be greatly missed.All other services will be private.
