On Sunday, October 13, 2024, Heaven welcomed Mary Frances Bond. She was born on May 19, 1931, in Houston, Texas, to Albert Charles Myslivec and Mercina Mlcoch, who were from Czechoslovakia. Raised in Houston, Mary attended Lamar High School and later Massey Business College.
Waiting in Heaven for Mary were her parents, her sisters, Mildred and Ethel, her husband Teddy Joe Bond, her son Ted "Stony" Bond, her grandson Bart Bond, and numerous other loved ones. We can only imagine it was a joyous and long-awaited reunion! Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jana Grinnan (Jim), Bruce Bond (Shirley), and Nikki Brennan (Jeff), as well as her daughter-in-law Brenda Bond. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Cliff, her niece Lisa Trammell (Kelly) and nephew K.C. (Susan). Additionally, she leaves behind twelve grandchildren: Emily, Justin, Josh, Blake, Jaclynn (Chris), Bridget (Rob), Jacob (Audrie), Jenna (Logan), Emily, Coulton, Sam, and Tucker. Mary was blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Heidi Jo, Oakland, Adaline, Luke, Braelyn, Caden, and Mayson.
Mary was known for her ability to engage in conversation with anyone, even total strangers. She had a contagious smile and a wonderful sense of humor. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her constant nurturing love and faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her signature gift of joy, expressed through her smile, laughter, and sense of humor, will never be forgotten.
Mary met her husband, Teddy Joe Bond, at a Baptist encampment in Palacios, Texas. Mary once wrote, "God planned it to be. I knew God made this person for me. My dreams are filled with loving him. He captured my heart. There were mountains and valleys, but we stood by each other in love." They had been married for 18 years when Ted tragically died in a car accident on December 6, 1968, at the age of 37.
Mary was a stay-at-home mom, raising her four children by herself. She eventually went to work for Continental Airlines as a reservationist and retired after 16 years in 2000.
Mary loved entertaining, especially during the holidays. She would cook up a feast, and her Christmas parties were legendary. She left behind quite a legacy!
Mary was an excellent cook and had many hobbies, including gardening, tennis, bowling, sewing, and traveling. She enjoyed dancing with Dance USA, winning trophies for the Cha Cha and Tango. She also loved acting in plays at the Town & Country Playhouse Dinner Theater in Houston, Texas.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628.
