Mary Helen Delgado Torrez

Mary Helen Delgado Torrez, 74, of Georgetown entered into rest Sunday, June 26, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 22, 1936 to Ben Ramos and Anizeta (Medina) Delgado in Granger. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother; Mary Helen was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church. She worked as a custodian at Southwestern University for a time, but was devoted to the care of her family. Mary Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; child, Brenda Torrez; brother, Gilbert Delgado; sister, Patsy Trevino. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Linda Vega of Round Rock, Robert Torrez of Hutto, Roy Torrez and his wife Natalie of Georgetown, Nancy Morales and husband Luis of Georgetown; brothers and sisters, Felipa Solis Ali of Houston, Arminia Perez of Granger, Marcelina Martinez of Tennessee, Ben Delgado of Corn Hill; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Georgetown. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Cemetery. Honoring her memory as pallbearers will be: Robert Torrez, Jr., Christopher Torrez, Isaac Torrez, Craig Torrez, Jose Reyes, and Marcos Gonzalez.
