Naomi Mae Hamilton

Naomi Mae Newsom Hamilton went home to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  She was 87 years old and spent her entire life making memories to cherish forever with her friends and family.  Born in Marquez, TX on August 10, 1933 she eventually moved to Williamson County and met her husband Jesse Hamilton.  They raised three daughters Margaret, Shirley, and Nancy. She loved dancing and would dance all night while her husband Jesse would play the fiddle at local dancehalls. She worked in food service for the school district and retired to become Nanny to all her grandchildren – that is how everyone knew her - Nanny.

She is survived by her two daughters Margaret (Hamilton) Doss and Nancy (Hamilton) Lalla and many grandkids, great grandkids, and even great-great grandkids.  She is the daughter of Guy Lanier Newsom and Maggie Lucy (Headrick) Newsom and was the last surviving child from their family – Marie, J.W., Horace “Sonny”, and Laverne.  She is preceded in death by her daughter Shirley (Hamilton) Schwertner, her husband Jesse Oliver Hamilton, her mother and father, and all of her brothers and sisters.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

Pallbearers: Brian Doss, Jason Schwertner, Justin Schwertner, Chris Lalla, Quentin Doss, and Logan Smith.  Honorary Pallbearers: Russ Blevins, Lynn Newsom, Doug Newson, and Johnny Holloway.

A Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. 

The Funeral Service will take place the following morning, Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 10:00 am, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel with the burial immediately following at IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown.
