It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Natividad Ortiz, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left this world just shy of her 85th birthday. Natividad was born on October 5, 1939, in Pleasanton, Texas, and passed away peacefully in Katy, Texas on October 3, 2024. She was the cherished widow of Cleto Ortiz. She will be greeted with many loved ones including her parents, and three sons.
Natividad was a devoted mother to five children: Cleto Ortiz Jr., Rudy Ortiz, Karen Martinez-Ortiz, Robert Ortiz, and Manuel Ortiz. Her legacy continues through her 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was one of twelve siblings, having three brothers and nine sisters, and her family ties were a source of great joy and strength throughout her life.
Known for her vibrant spirit and nurturing nature, Natividad had a passion for cooking, often preparing delicious meals for her family and loved ones. She found intense pleasure in watching wrestling, praying over her favorite wrestlers, indulging in pedicures, and savoring her favorite Mexican dishes, especially soups. Her strength and resilience shone through when she bravely fought lymphoma twice, conquering it once with remarkable courage.
She always opened her home to others and in turn made you feel at home just by being in her presence. Natividad was selfless and always put her loved one before herself. She was very headstrong and independent.
Natividad’s warmth, laughter, and culinary talents will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation for Natividad will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628, with a rosary taking place at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2700 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626, with burial to follow at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery, 1301 Weir Rd, Georgetown, TX 78626.
